Charlotte Gullick grew up in Northern California, during the area’s transition from logging to marijuana, and the resulting tensions inform much of her work. She is the Chair of Creative Writing at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas, and is the author of the novel, By Way of Water. Her writings have appeared in The Millions, Brevity, the LA Review, and The Rumpus. Most recently, one of her essays was named as finalist for the Montana Prize in Nonfiction.
Charlotte’s work often explores the intersection of landscape, legacy, family, and identity, and she believes deeply in the power of story to create healing and coherence. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and daughter.
